Es handelt sich um einen quaderförmigen Werkstein mit einem Schnurornament. Das Ornament befindet sich mittig an einer Längsseite. Es wird gebildet von einer gedrehten Schnur oder einem gedrehten Stab.
Bei diesem Objekt soll es sich um eine Plinthe, den untersten Teil einer Säulen- oder Pfeilerbasis aus der Geseker Martinskapelle handeln. Es ist aber nicht ausgeschlossen, dass es ein Fries aus einem anderen Architekturzusammenhang ist. Die Plinthen wurden im allgemeinen eher schmucklos gehalten.
