Description

Dies ist die mit den heutigen Turmschnecken ihre Ahnen teilende Schnecke Nerinea (Nerinea) desvoidyi D’ORBIGNY.
Die Gattung war im Oberjura ein weltweit verbreiteter, typischer Bewohner der landnahen Flachmeere, oft von Gezeiten beeinflusst. Sie lebte praktisch stationär und ernährte sich als Suspensionsfiltrierer deutlich anders als die meisten Schnecken.
Alter: ca. 157 Mio. Jahre, Oxfordium, Oberjura
Fundort: Coulangé, Dept. Indre-et-Loire/Frankreich
