Das Gebäude wurde 1893 von dem Schankwirt Josef Frenke errichtet. Im Haus wohnte der Getreidehändler Johann Elvering, der es 1897 nach dem Tod Frenkes erwarb und mit Eugen Kreimer als Gastwirt die Wirtschaft, neben dem Getreidehandel, betrieb.
