Als Retablo ausgeführte peruanische Weihnachtskrippe in einem bunt bemalten Schrein mit Dreiecksgiebel und aufklappbaren Seitentüren. Die Krippenszene aus farbig bemalter Mehl-Gips-Masse, zeigt die heilige Familie in andiner Tracht. Maria hält eine Spindel in der Hand. Als Verweis auf die Schöpfung ist die Familie von zahlreichen Tieren und Vögeln umgeben. Links befindet sich ein Baum; rechts eine Grotte mit Felsengesicht. Auf der Rückseite ist das Schrankbild signiert und datiert. Die farbenfrohen Kunstwerke Maximiano Ochante Lozanos stehen in einer langen Tradition peruanischer Volkskunst. [Emil Schoppmann]
